An ode to the best vegetarian South African food products.
As a young South African, I’m proud to say that this delicious milk treat has been a part of my upbringing. Anyway, I went in to the shop this morning and saw my favourite flavour Steri Stumpie, Marshmallow, in the fridge – now, that is a rare find, especially in a chain market. It was a necessity to drink one of these treasures on the day we celebrate all that makes us South African.
It got me thinking about what my favourite South African food are, and which of these items I had lying around my house.
Since I don’t eat biltong or boerewors, and don’t seem to have any beer or local wine around today, and we are all out of Marmite, I had to be a little creative.
