It’s the beginning if the warm months, and I couldn’t be more excited.
Simon’s Town has many hidden secrets. Today, we stumbled upon a new favourite. A small, hidden cafe/gelato shop, simply named, Gelato. The Ice-cream-shop-with-a-simple-name caught our eye while walking past towards the private beach. The only signage is a chalk board drawing of an ice-cream cone. I’m such a sucker for a cute shop – and this one something special – they serve vegan sorbet and egg-free gelato. And all preservative free!
I chose vanilla ginger. Ah! Loved.
The shop only accept cash. It’s around R40 for two scoops of ice-cream, and R25 for a medium cappuccino.
You can find Gelato at 17 Kleintuin Road, Seaforth, Simon’s Town, Cape Town (open Mon – Friday 10am – 5:30pm, or Sat/Sun 10am – 6pm). There’s lots of parking in the Seaforth Restaurant outdoor parking lot. Remember to tip your car guards.
