Yuzu Kitchen & Bar is the hotspot of the hour in the city this Autumn. The quirky ‘Kill Bill’ kung-fu themed restaurant, situated on Kloof Street, has brought modern Asian fusion cuisine to Cape Town, and taking things to another level.
*UPDATE: We have been informed that this restaurant has since closed it’s doors
Revenge may be best served cold – but ramen needs to be piping hot. I have a mild obsession with fusion foods, so my poor boyfriend gets dragged to our standard fusion restaurants often enough. When a friend of ours suggested we try this new ‘American-Japanese’ place in the trendy part of town, I’m not sure who was more delighted for a change of scenery. I don’t have any previous ramen experiences to compare it to – but the food was great. I was delighted to see a tofu ramen of the menu (although, if you’re a vegetarian, remember to request your egg to be non-Scotched if you’re a fan or to hold the egg entirely, unlike me, who forgot).
(Please note that the tofu ramen is not vegan, as udon noodles contain egg)
Follow Yuzu Kitchen & Bar on social: Facebook, Twitter or Instagram for updates or call 065 346 1792 or email reservations@yuzu.co.za to book a table at the 75 Kloof Street, Gardens, Cape Town restaurant. They are super responsive on social media too, so don’t forget to tag them (and us!) in your meal shot. They are open between 12:00pm – 11:00pm daily. There is a limited amount of parking around the area, but there is a great underground parking under the Wellness Warehouse Centre. Just remember to tip your car guards if you park on the street.
