Reuben’s Restaurant at The One&Only Cape Town has launched their Winter Set Menu and it’s total perfection! At R295 a person, it’s a steal. That venue + the service + that heavenly food = the real deal. I was invited to be one of the first food bloggers to sample the new menu over a lunchtime with my new friends from Instaeats Cape Town one particularly gloomy looking Friday afternoon.
We were asked by our favourite local foodies team, InstaEatsCapeTown to be involved with this years #InstaEatsWinterWarmers roll out, where we visit some of Cape Town’s most popular spots and try our the favourites off the winter menus.

I arrived to a glass of ice cold Graham Beck Brut, ready and waiting for me. The fire-heated restaurant had such a homely, welcoming atmosphere, with a clear African influence in the decor. When our waiter, Aubrey came to take our order, I threw him a spanner – I was definitely wanting to indulge in the Winter Set Menu, but couldn’t eat any of the listed options as they we’re vegetarian friendly. Without a blink of an eye – he told me not to worry, and that he would organize a treat for me. The control freak in me had a mild heart attack, but I went with it! And I could not have picked my meal better than he did. Aubrey got it spot on. Dean rattled off his choices, and they sounded great too.
STARTERS Smoked Sweetcorn, Mozzarella Croquettes with Basil-Jalapeno Ranch Dip. MAINS Potato Gnocchi with Asparagus, Wheat Grass, and Radish salad, Pickled Shimeji, Shalott, Lemon and Herb with a hint of Truffle. DESSERT Steamed Madagascan Vanilla Pudding with Butterscotch, Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream and Walnut Crumb. EXTRA The Cookie Monster: Amarula and Hazelnut Hot Chocolate with Amarula Infused Whipped Cream
