You know, without a doubt, I can actually say this with pride – Hudsons Burgers may have some of the best food I’ve ever tasted. I mean, I’m a sucker for anything cheesy and deep-fried, but there’s actually something for everyone at the trending Cape Town restaurant. Health conscience? No problem. Vegetarian? No problem! Vegan? NO PROBLEM! From the starters, to the burgers to sides and even desserts. They have you covered! The meals are always delicious, the service is great, staff are friendly and that half price appetizers & cocktail special is just to-die-for! Another winning factor is also that it doesn’t matter which venue you visit, the excellent quality remains the same – which, in a local franchise, is something to be proud of!
As the name of the venue depicts – they are definitely best known for their deluxe, gourmet burgers (the choices are just insane!), but on this particular visit, we were there to tackle that Special. Every weekday between 4:30 – 6:30pm, Hudsons Burgers offers their appetizers, cocktails and selected draught beers at HALF PRICE! And it’s perfection – every time.
Mishka and I decided to go big, as it was a Wednesday and all. So we shared a frozen Pomegranate Margarita jug and chili poppers (always a winning choice here). She chose the Chicken Strips, and a table (vegan, gluten free) Guacamole which they serve deconstructed and mix it right in front of you. I ordered the Falafals and my favourite bite-sized Mac & Cheese bombs, which are macaroni cheese, deep friend and served with a truffle mayo. I found the Falafal a little dry this time, but the taste was great. I finished off my meal with a Mai Tai. Just generally a beautiful meal, not to mention we sat outside for dinner in July? We left very pleased indeed.

The special is not available on weekends, and possibly Fridays in some venues. They are open between 12:00pm – 11:00pm daily. There is a limited amount of parking in the Terraces Parking area, but there’s a fair amount of parking around the restaurant. Haven’t ever really had an issue finding a spot. Just remember to tip your car guards if you park on the street.
