Doesn’t this post being a month late just sum up what 2017 did to us?!
I don’t get personal on here very often, as I like to keep things ‘business on the blog, party on the ‘gram‘ but every now and then, I do like to show a bit of the type of human that I am online. Makes me more of a real person, I find.
I don’t believe in New Year Resolutions. Resolutions don’t stick, and you end up feeling heartbroken that you let yourself down. And spend more time wallowing about the step backwards than getting up, dusting yourself off and get back on that rolling wagon to move forward. I just don’t feel this #NewYearNewMe rubbish – it’s not the new year that’s going to change you, darling. It’s YOU that’s going to change YOU!
So, my 2016 wrap up was all about how crazy the year was (and you guys, it was horrific and amazing in so many ways, it was scary!) But my goals for 2017 were to focus on myself and who I am as a person: Be grateful, be kind, be humble, be true. 2017 taught me a lot about where I see myself going, how much I can expect for myself and how far I’m will to push to get where I want to be. I also had to learn how to stand up for myself and make myself heard – which I had never done before!
Saying that, rereading last years’ post, aptly titlesĀ #GoalDigger – I did actually sign up for the gym – AND GO! (I visited at least once a week for the whole year!) and I DID write more (I ended up posting at least one blog post a week!), and I did actually change my eating habits and get to a happy place with food again! So all in all – maybe 2017 taught me to be ‘me’ again? Or maybe taught me to be ‘the most me’ I’ve ever been before?
So, I’m carrying last years’ goals forward… We can never be too grateful, too kind, or too humble or even too true. Let’s make 2018 something special and make our souls beautiful.
Stay Golden and Live a Beautiful Life x
