Hidden gems are always a winning find on a quick weekend getaway. There’s so much to see, do, explore and experience in Durban, it’s going to take us decade of weekend trips to check off all the must-do-items on our list. But we’re going to have to make some space, as we’re going to need to slot in another visit to Bona Terra Cafe in Assagay next time again.
If you’re an avid follower of The Social Needia, you’ll know by now that we’re always on the hunt for a good vegetarian burger! And I think we have another two goodies to throw into the mix.
The menu was packed with delicious options for breakfast, tea time and a good hearty lunch! We just missed breakfast (where we would have picked either the Smashed Avo on toast with Truffle infused Mushroom, ahh yum!) so we headed over to the lunch selection and decided to share the two vegetarian burgers on offer. And we were not disappointed!
These burgers were MASSIVE! Literally toppling over. The BT House Burger, was something I’d never seen before. The one I had ordered was a double stacked Panko Crumbed Feta patty burger, topped with melted Emmental Cheese, Pickles, some greens with a Herby Tomato Relish, and the other was a huge Vegan Falafel Burger with super Creamy Guacamole, Caramelized Red Onions and a FINE Chipotle Mayo.
Another thing we loved about this spot (other than the Lavender and Lime Gin and fab Pina Colada that went down a treat) is that it’s the perfect, safe place for kids to run around and enjoy. SUch a stunning find for a brekkie, lunch or just a tea & cake. Beautiful location! Will be back again for sure.
