I remember just after I finished my second batch of Roaccutane (before I even switched to the generic version), my dermatologist at the time suggested that I look into having one of those crazy-deep, scary acid chemical skin peels – and that idea of basically burning off two layers of my face off didn’t sound amazing and put the idea in the back of my mind since then. Although I loved the idea of having my scaring and deep skin cells melted away, I could seem to slot in a downtime of a week with no sunlight – so I left the peel and used products to slowly do the same job.
That’s where this NEW product comes in looking INCREDIBLE! The do-it-yourself peel contains some awesome products that are amazing for skin care. Since I am no skincare expert, I have found an awesome except from the website that I want to include here:
‘Both at-home and professional peels use exfoliates like Alpha Hydroxy Acids (e.g., Lactic Acid), Beta Hydroxy Acids (e.g., Salicylic Acid) and enzymes from natural ingredients like Rice, Papaya, Pineapple and Pumpkin, to reduce the appearance of premature aging such as age spots, as well as rough skin texture and acne. Hydroxy acids work by dissolving the intercellular “glue” that holds skin cells together, allowing them to shed more easily, while enzymes unlink skin cells and digest proteins that help connect them.’
Simply applied like a mask, massaged into the face and neck and left to active for 3 – 7 minutes – a facial skin peel has never been so easy! The magical mixture of ingredients removes any surface level debris and exfoliate the skin to remove fine lines, pigmentation and helps smooth out that surface to leave you looking damn radiant and make you glow!
With instant results, a super fair price for what you’re getting and a 8 week travel pack – what’s not to love?! The travel pack of 10 individually packed portions make the application easy to work out. The packaging is great because you know exactly how much product to use and it makes sure you don’t skimp on product to make the product ‘last’. The pack has the 10 tubes – which works out to about R150 a session.
Although I do think there was a little much product for the size of my face, I was happy to use all the product and spread a nice thick layer over my face and neck.
So, overall, I HIGHLY am recommending this do-it-at-home dermalogica’s rapid reveal peel! It’s perfect for those of us who LOVE skincare and want the best for their skin, but can’t necessarily afford that annual ‘big peel’ or are looking for a less drastic measure for a glowing skin!
This product is available NOW in South Africa from dermalogica Online, a Concept Store and affiliated stores nationwide. As mentioned, retailing at R1495 for the 30ml travel pack (individually packaged as 5ml tubes) the product works out to be R150 a use! A well deserved treat after a LONG year!
