Jumping into this new frame of mind like 🥂🍾✨ Considering I’m writing this from a bike in a gym… we’ve got loads to catch up on. If you had showed me this picture of myself a year ago, and told me that I would be posting it, I would have told you that you were crazy. Me, in my size 14 jeans and a tight white shirt – rolls and all? Not a chance. But here we are.
In August 2018, I made a choice to get healthy. My focus was health – not weight. I hadn’t exercised in 6 months and I could seriously feel it.
My first year of exercising was great. I joined a friends studio where I did body conditioning physical training, BalletRIP, yoga and Pilates. I actually learned that exercising was FUN! I had never experienced that before.
I hadn’t weighed myself at that time because I wasn’t in a good space. But I was bigger than I had ever been. After 6 months, I my body and mind set had changed! I felt great. I hadn’t necessarily lost weight but my body was feeling fantastic and people were noticing which always gives us that little confidence boost we all thrive off (we know we do!)
Here we are, little over a year later. I am plant-based, exercising 4 times a week, able to run a 5k without dying, 10kgs down, joining various physical exercise classes and loving every single second of it!
In June this year, 2019, I decided that weight now was a goal too. But all in the name of health. Mental, physical and emotional. Clocking it at a heart breaking 85kgs on the scale.
I was working with Berdine Jacobs, Chef Dot, at the time and she suggested that I come to see her to do a DNA Body Analysis and Scan to see what was happening inside and what she could suggest for me to change in my diet to help me reach my goals – or at the very least, kick start journey.
I’ve fallen in love with the idea of loving the skin I’m in. It’s amazing what a year of positive self-affirmations, body positivity and beautiful people surrounding you can do for the mind and soul. So, if you’re needing the push to be the change you want to see in your own self – this is it. What you see in the mirror is beautiful, no matter what shape or size of pants. You are magic!
